Cheera/Amaranthus chopped -2 cups.
Garlic chopped-1/2 tsp.
Green chilli chopped and crushed-1(or acc to one’s requirement).
Curry leaves- a few.
Cumin seeds-1/4 tsp.
Grated coconut – 4tbsp.
Dry Red chillies-2 halved.
Mustard seeds- 1tsp.
Salt to taste.
Wash and clean the leaves thoroughly and chop it finely and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan.Add Mustard seeds,let it splutter.
Add chopped onion and saute till transparent.
To this add the chopped leaves, grated coconut,Dried Red chilli,cuminseeds,Chopped garlic,
Crushed green chilli and curry leaves and salt.
Mix this well and close and cook in low flame till done.
Serve with Rice and Kachiya moru and Enjoy!
Add 1 tsp of ghee to the cheera thoran after it is fully cooked and saute it well in the pan itself.
This increases its taste.
