When it comes to thoran(stir fry with Coconut),we usually use carrots or cabbage or any other
veggies..This dish is the outcome of the situation when a bunch of spring onions are the only
vegetables left in the veggie tray of your fridge!!I have become very lazy nowadays to go to the
market to get my vegetables.But the surprising part is that this turned out to be sooo good.
So mark my words…this thoran/stir fry is toooo tasty!!Try it out!!!
Spring onions – 1 bundle.
Green chilli – 1.(Chopped)
Grated Coconut – 1 cup.
Cumin seeds – 1 pinch
Garlic – 2 cloves.(Crushed with skin)
Oil – 1 tbsp.
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp.
Salt to taste.
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp.
1.Remove the base portion of the spring onions,wash well under running water and chop finely.
2.In a pan,heat oil and add the mustard seeds and wait till they splutter.
3.To this,add the chopped Spring Onions,Chopped Green Chilli,Grated Coconut,Cumin seeds,
Crushed Garlic,Turmeric powder and Salt and mix well.
4.Cover and cook under low flame,mixing in between.
5.When done,transfer into a serving plate and serve with Rice and Enjoy!!
