Onion – 1 big(Sliced finely)
Shallots – 7 -8(diced)
Ginger – 1 tbsp(crushed)
Garlic – 1 tbsp(crushed)
Black pepper – 1 tbsp(Crushed)
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp.
Water – (1 1/4 cup)
Chilli powder – 1 1/2 tsp.
Coriander powder – 3 tsp.
Garam masala powder – 1 1/2 tsp.
Vinegar – 1 tsp
In a pressure cooker, cook beef along with turmeric powder, crushed black pepper ,vinegar, salt and water for 5-6 whistles or till tender.
When pressure releases, open the lid and keep on flame until all the stock is absorbed and keep it aside.
In a pan, heat coconut oil,and add onion, shallots, ginger, garlic and curry leaves and saute till the onions becomes transparent.
Now add chillipowder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and saute on medium flame till the mixture darkens(say for 4-5 minutes). Now add the cooked beef to this and saute well for about 10-15 minutes, alternating the flame from high to low until the masala clings on to the beef and the dish darkens.
Serve hot with rice or even chapathis/roti and Enjoy!!
Adding some coconut slices(1/2 inch) to the beef while sauting(step 3),will give an authentic naadan taste to the dish!!
